VIRGINIA GLICK HIGHLAND, IN On August 11, 2012, Virginia Glick reunited with her husband of 65 years, unwavering in her faith in God. Born July 29, 1918 in Alliance, NE, Virginia Castle came to the Calumet Region in 1940. Gin went to work at Pullman Standard as a statistical typist then met and married Clinton Glick Sr. in 1942. Virginia and Clint moved to Highland in 1948 where she continued to reside until her passing. Virginia was a 50 year member and Past Matron of the OES, Griffith Chapter. She was a 54 year member of the First Church of Christ in Highland and longtime member of Phi Omega. Her most remarkable talent and ambition was to be a wife, homemaker, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. Our family will attest to that superlative achievement. Virginia leaves to cherish her memory: son, Clinton (Donna) Glick II; daughter, Vickie Estes; daughter-in-law, Marge (Phillip) Glick; step-grandchildren: Lisa, Jim, Colleen, and Susan; as well as loving former daughter-in-law, Susan Schroeder. Grieving her passing are four bereft grandchildren: Erick Glick, Michael (Sofia) Estes, Michelle (Henry) Fuentes, and Melissa (Justin) Fronek; loving great grandchildren: Elyse and Hailey Estes, and Jackson and Avery Fronek. Virginia was preceded in death by her husband, Clinton Glick, Sr.; eldest son, Phillip Glick; parents: Philo and Gertrude Castle; and siblings: Robert S. Castle and Wanda Castle. Funeral services will be held on Thursday August 16, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at White Funeral Home with Rev. Randy Harrison officiating. Burial will follow at Elmwood Cemetery in Hammond. Friends may meet with the family on Wednesday August 15, 2012 from 4:00-8:00 p.m. at White Funeral Home located at 921 W. 45th Ave. in Griffith. For 65 years, Virginia's small town values, faith in God, and love of this country was the moral compass that will continue to guide our family.
