Gerard J. Grimmer age 83 of Highland, Indiana passed away on Friday, August 7, 2015.

He is survived by his wife of over 60 years Marianne (nee Gottschlich) Grimmer

Children: Karl (Becky) Grimmer, Christine (Lawrence) Dora, and Frederick (Nancy) Grimmer; 13 grandchildren: Karl M. Grimmer Jr. ,Justin (Terese) Grimmer, Rachel (Brad) Bassick, Stephen (Angi) Dora, Jonathan (Kelli) Dora, Caitlin Dora, Erik (Christine) Grimmer, Matthew (Gail) Grimmer, Jay (Tina) Grimmer, Lisa (Nick) Velarde, Jessica Schlegel, Brynn Schlegel, and Nicholas Schlegel; 16 great grandchildren; siblings: Harry (Valerie) Grimmer, Gregory (Agnes) Grimmer, Joanie (late Vincent) Panella; sister in law Georgia Grimmer and brother in law Arthur Erickson.

He is preceded in death by his parents Harry and Edna Grimmer, siblings Rita (Carl) Kasper, Vincent Grimmer, Collette Erickson, Patricia (Robert) Smith.

Funeral services will be held on Friday August 14, 2015 at 9:45am at White Funeral Home and a Mass at 10:30 am at Our Lady of Grace located at 3025 Highway Avenue in Highland Indiana with Fr. Edward Moszur celebrating.

Burial will follow at St.John-St.Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Hammond.

Friends may meet with the family on Thursday, August 13, 2015 from 2:00pm-8:00pm at White Funeral Home located at 921 W. 45 ^th Ave. in Griffith. An afternoon prayer service will be held on Thursday, August 13 at 3:30 pm.

Gerard was an Army Veteran. He was retired from Keyes Fibre as the Personnel Manager.

Gerard was a member and past president of Golden Times and the Personnel Assoc., and a member of Bishop Noll 49ers. He enjoyed woodworking, roses, camping, fishing, pinochle and he was an avid reader. Gerard's biggest enjoyment was being with his family.
