Gerald E. Kennedy, age 85, of Griffith, passed away on Thursday, October 5, 2017.

He was born in Streator, Illinois to Charles and Elma Kennedy. He was preceded in death by his parents and by his brother, Norman. He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Lorraine. Together they were blessed with sons: Kevin (Judy), Doug (JoAnn), David (Bob), Tim, and Matt (Debbie). He is also survived by his grandchildren Sean, Samantha, Madison and Spencer; and step grandchildren Steven, Matthew, and Megan.

Gerald served honorably in the U.S. Coast Guard during the Korean conflict. He was retired from Prudential Insurance Co. and he enjoyed the Chicago Cubs, fishing, and gardening.

Memorial services will be held on Monday October 9, 2017 at 12 noon at WHITE FUNERAL HOME with Fr. Theodore Mens officiating.

Friends may meet with the family on Monday October 9, 2017 from 10:00am UNTIL the time of services at WHITE FUNERAL HOME located at 921 W. 45th Avenue in Griffith.
