Frederick "Fred" Huddleston age 74 of Gary passed away on Tuesday, February 14, 2017.

He is survived by his wife of 25 years Sandra;   children: Barbara (Steve) Huggins, Kelly (Tom) Wright, Tracy (Roger) Modesty, Stephanie Gailey, John Huddleston, Tony (Eileen) Velasquez, Natalie (Barry) Buffington, Joshua (Sara) Velasquez and 14 grandchildren, and by his brother Joe Huddleston.

Fred was preceded in death by his parents James and Vivian Huddleston and by his sisters Harriet, Mary, Martha, Lee, Pat, and Kitty.

Memorial services will be private.

Fred retired from Inland Steel and the School City of Gary (math and science departments).  He not only taught for the  Gary Schools, he  also taught at Chinle, Arizona, Purdue Calumet and  the Valparaiso Public Schools.  He was  a Warrant Officer (CWO4) in the US Navy and he loved working outdoors and volunteering.  Sandy wishes to extend a heartfelt thank you to the Hospice of the Calumet for their wonderful care they gave Fred.
