FRANCES H. "WINKY" ACEVEDO HAMMOND, IN FORMERLY EAST CHICAGO Frances H. "Winky" Acevedo, age 74 of Hammond, formerly of East Chicago, passed away on Saturday, May 14, 2011. She is survived by her sister, Maria Morales of Gary; brother, Raymond Acevedo of Schererville; nephews: James A. (Anne) Acevedo, Abe Morales Jr. and Joe (Susan) Rios; great nieces and great nephews; sister-in- law, Gloria Acevedo; and brother-in-law, Stanley Rios Preceded in death by her mother, Vicenta Acevedo; brother, John; sister, Margaret Rios; and brother-in-law, Abe Morales. Funeral Service will be held Wednesday, May 18, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. at White Funeral Home located at 921 W. 45th Avenue, Griffith. Burial will follow at St. John-St. Joseph Cemetery in Hammond. Friends may meet with the family on Tuesday May 17, 2011 from 3:00 p.m.-8:000 p.m. at White Funeral Home . Frances was a former member of St. Patrick Catholic Church in East Chicago.
