Edward Adler, age 84 of Griffith, formerly of Dyer passed away on February 3, 2015.

Ed was born in Brooklyn, NY.  He was the son of Samuel and Rose Adler.

Preceded in death by parents, sister: Jeane Waxman and wife of 45 years, Dorothy.

Survived by his wife: Mary Virginia Adler.

His five children: Arlene Adler (David) Hensler of Seattle, WA, their son, Zubin Hensler, Leslie (Deborah) Adler, Pleasanton, CA, their sons, Daniel and David Adler, Barry Adler of Portage, IN, Scott (Angela) Adler of Schererville, their sons, Patrick Adler and David Mcainey, Jeff Adler of Mesa, AZ, children: Jordan and Megan (Johnathon) Cyra.  One great grandson Johnavan Cyra.

Step-children: Lois (Mark) Heneslin of Rochester MN, Daniel (Nancy) Foss of Gallion, OH, Lydia M. (Jerry) Grove of Ft. Wayne, IN.

10 step-grandchildren and 5 step- great grandchildren

Edward was employed in New York store jewelry department then was transferred to Hammond store. Retired from K-Mart as jewelry manager.  He worked part time for town of Dyer.

He was an avid baseball fan and saw many NY World series games at Ebbet's Field with his Dad.   When he became a Hoosier he took his family to Wrigley Field and sat in "da Bleechers".  Father's day was spent at Chicago games.  Ed proposed to Virginia at Wrigley on Sammy Sosa day in 1998.  He encouraged his children to become Little League champs. Ed bowled in local leagues and taught his progeny the game. He enjoyed the company of his dogs.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, February 13 at 11:00am at White Funeral Home, located at 921 W. 45 ^th Street, Griffith, IN. with Pastor Greg Lee officiating.

Friends may meet with the family at White Funeral Home from 10:00am until the time of service.
