Dorris F. Owensby, age 59 of Gary, Indiana passed away on Tuesday, October 3, 2018.

She is survived by her husband of 39 years; Bobby Owensby; children; Bobby "BJ"(Malissa) Owensby, John R. (Cindy) Owensby, Amanda(Kian Guardiola) Owensby; "Her boys" William(Kristen), Jason(Kelli) , and Raleigh; grandchildren; Amalia, Bobby III, Sarah, John, Jane, Erik, Logan, Adam, Finnegan, Oliver, and Delaney; Siblings; Billy (Beverly) Arnold, Virgil (Susan) Arnold, Rebecca Splitgerber, Mary (Paul) White, and Janice Arnold; numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents Billy and Margaret Arnold

Funeral services will be on Sunday, October 7, 2018 at 7:00 PM at White Funeral Home with Pastor Shawn Cornett officiating. Cremation will follow. Friends may meet with the family on Sunday, October 7, 2018 from 2:00 PM to 7:00 PM at White Funeral Home located at 921 W. 45th Ave in Griffith

Dorris was an avid crafter having a booth at the Griffith Boys Scout Fall Festival in Central Park for 35 years, missing only this year. She was the queen of cakes creating whatever anyone could think up!  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the family.
