Donna Lively, age 74, passed away peacefully at home, on June 1, surrounded by her family. She is survived by her loving husband of 55 years, Edward; her two sons: Richard (Monica) Lively of Brownsburg, IN and Michael (Becky) Lively of Hammond, IN; her three grandchildren: Nick, Megan and Jenni were the light of her life. Also surviving are brothers: Dennis (Judy) Valade of Chesterton, IN and Edward (Sandy) Valade of Lansing, IL; nieces and nephews include: Deena (Peter) Pidrak of Valparaiso, IN, Robert Valade of Lansing, IL, Vicky (Erik) Odegaard of Dyer, IN, and Greg Valade of Lansing, IL; in addition to many great nieces and nephews. Donna was preceded in death by her parents: Donald and Mary Lou Valade; and her brother, Anthony "Tony" Valade. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, June 5, 2014, at 10:00 AM at St Mary Catholic Church located at 525 N. Broad St. in Griffith with Fr. Theodore Mens Celebrating. Burial will follow at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens, in Schererville. Friends may meet with the family on Wednesday June 4th, from between 2:00- 4:00PM and 6:00- 8:00PM at White Funeral Home , located at 921 W. 45th Ave. in Griffith. There will be an afternoon wake service at 3:00 PM. Donna was a member of St. Mary Church in Griffith. In addition to being a devoted wife, mother and friend, she was very involved in many clubs and organizations throughout her life. She was a Den Mother for many years for Cub Scout Pack 518, a member of St. Mary Alter Society, Daughters of Isabella, and a founding parent of the Griffith Swim Club. Donna was also a member and past President of Lansing Chamber of Commerce - being awarded their Athena award in 1993, a member of Lansing Business Women, and with her husband, Ed, chaired the car and cash raffle at St. Mary Church Festival for 14 years, as well as the two of them being long time members of Worldwide Marriage Encounter.
