Connie L. McCarter-Sanasack age 78 of Dyer passed away on Monday December 18, 2017. Born and raised in Hammond to Burns and Lenore Gerber. She left Tech High School in 10th grade to marry Larry McCarter who preceded her in death. She learned the trade of book keeping and tax preparation and retired at the age of 70 from her own successful business as a self-employed tax preparer.

She is survived by her husband Kenneth; children Cathy (Glenn) Tucker and Don (Tommie) McCarter; grandchildren Robin Tucker, Brad (fiancé Carri DeWitt) Johnson, Adam (Shannon) McCarter and Cory (Erica) McCarter; great son Nathan; sisters Jeanette Vandersteeen and Priscilla (Jesse) Jones, numerous nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents Burns and Lenore Gerber, her first husband Larry, sister Wilma Frye, brothers-in-law Joe Frye and Alfred Vandersteen.

Memorial services will be held on Thursday December 21st 2017 at 10:00 am at White Funeral Home located at 921 W. 45th Ave. in Griffith with Jerry Frye officiating.

Friends may meet with the family on Wednesday December 20th from 4:00pm-8:00pm at White Funeral Home.

Connie was a lifetime member of the Nazarene Church. She was a longtime member FOP#161 Auxiliary, owner of McCarter Book Keeping and was an active member for the local Republican Party.
