Christy Laviolette (Kasmark) age 57, lifelong resident of Griffith, passed away on March 27, 2013 at Community Hospital in Munster, Indiana after a long courageous battle with cancer. She is survived by a loving husband of 36 years, William Laviolette Jr.;  devoted son, Billy Laviolette; sisters: Deborah (James) Musil of Dallas, Texas, Dawn (Tom) Largus, of Highland, Indiana; brother, Ray (Teri) E. Kasmark Jr., of Munster, Indiana; mother-in-law, Pat Laviolette; she leaves behind many nieces and nephews: Nicole, Tara, Noelle, Ashley, Chauncey, Christina, Chelsy, Sam, and Taylor; great nephew and nieces: Austin, Ida, and Anna May. She was preceded in death by her father, Raymond E. Kasmark Sr.; mother, Ida May Kasmark; father-in-law, William Laviolette Sr.

She was a devoted wife and mother. She worked for Griffith Schools as a recess lady and in the cafeteria and for the Town of Griffith as a Crossing Guard. She has a heart of gold, and was always more interested in others than herself. Her laughter warmed everyone's heart. She will be deeply missed.
