Christine A. "Chris" Walter, age 67 of Griffith, Indiana passed away on Saturday, June 4, 2022.

She is survived by her husband of 40 years Roy; son RJ (Tori) Walter; grandchildren Connor, Patrick, and Raevyn; siblings Don (Renee) Nowinski and Karen (Dennis) Szany; brother-in-law Martin (Barbara) Walter; special nieces Denise Szany, Dawn (Dan Addison) Szany, Diane (Anthony) Buonadonna and Kelley (Michael) Szany; great niece Chrissy Addison; special nephews Scott (Alison) Nowinski, Brian (Tricia) Nowinski, Nick Nowinski, and Casey (Laura) Nowinski; and many other nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents Casimir and Helen Nowinski and special nephew Michael Szany.

Funeral Services will be held on Friday, June 10, 2022, at 10:00am with Very Reverend John P. Kowalczyk Jr. Pastor officiating directly at St. Michael the Archangel National Catholic Church, located at 6629 W 133rd Ave, Cedar Lake, IN 46303. Burial will follow at Memory Lane Cemetery, located at 6305 W Lincoln Hwy, Crown Point, IN 46307.

Friends may meet with the family on Thursday, June 9, 2022, from 4:00pm-8:00pm at White Funeral Home, located at 921 W. 45th (Glen Park Avenue) Griffith, IN.

Chris loved attending sporting events, fishing trips in Canada, Bingo, crafting, and her morning coffee talks. Her favorite thing to do was sitting on her back porch with family and friends. Her door was always open, and she never met a stranger.
