Charlene "Dragica" D. Novinc, age 65, of Griffith, IN, passed away on Sunday, January 26, 2014. She is survived by her husband of 47 years, Valentin; sisters: Ann Listar (late Carl) of Griffith and Mary Ann (late Leo) Maggi of Griffith; brother, Marion (Maria Montalvo) Srakovcic of East Chicago; nieces: Carolyn (Paul) Jacobs, Michele (Mike Lucero) Maggi, and Veronica Srakovcic; nephews: Christopher (Amanda) Srakovcic and Andrew Farina; five great nieces; one great- great nephew; her sisters- in-law: Vidica and Nada; and brother-in-law, Rudolf all of Croatia. She was preceded in death by her parents: Ivan and Caroline Srakovcic; and brother, George. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 1, 2014 at 10:00 AM at St. Mary Catholic Church located at 525 N. Broad St. in Griffith with Fr. Theodore Mens celebrating. Burial will follow at Calumet Park Cemetery in Merrillville. Friends may meet with the family on Friday January 31, 2014 from 3:00- 8:00 PM at White Funeral Home located at 921 W. 45th Ave. in Griffith with a prayer service at 7:30 PM. Charlene was a member of Holy Trinity Croatian Church in East Chicago, St. Mary Catholic Church in Griffith, and of the CFU Lodge #170.
