Cathey L. Higgins, age 59 of Hammond, passed away on Thursday December17, 2015.

She is survived by her husband of 37 years Jerry; children Brandy Higgins, and Carl Higgins; grandchildren Zachery, Eric, Samantha, Nevaeh, Ethan, and Paige; great granddaughter Alex; sisters Candy (Frank) Turner, Bonnie Beam, and Dawn Evans; and by numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents William and Gaynell Beam, son Jerry Jr., her   brother Chuck, and by her sister Frankie Melcher.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday December 22, 2015 at 10:00am at White Funeral Home with Pastor Shawn Cornett officiating. Burial will follow at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens in Schererville.

Friends may meet with the family on Monday December 21 ^st from 4-8:00pm at White Funeral Home located at 921 W. 45 ^th Ave in Griffith.

Cathey was retired from the Lake Central School Corp. She enjoyed taking care of her plants, cooking, and watching the cooking shows on TV.
