Beverly (Bev) Cummings, age 57, of Valparaiso left us to be with her Lord Monday morning at Porter Regional Hospital. She is preceded in death by her father, James Wells, her mother, Dorothy Wells, her son Layton McNerlin and her brother Bob Wells and is survived by her husband Stephen Cummings, daughter Michelle (John) Lewis, two grandchildren, Raevyn Walter and Xander Lewis. Also surviving are her Mother in Law Maureen Cummings, brother in law Jeff Cummings, her sister Twala (Bob) Tarne, and brothers Bill Wells, Eugene Wells, Douglas (Cathy) Wells, and Jim (Lisa) Wells as well as countless nieces and nephews.

Bev was a loving and devoted wife and mother and her two grandchildren were the light of her life. She loved to cook and was an avid Elvis fan. Bev brought great strength, love and a lot of laughter to her family. She was a wonderfully creative and brilliant woman who lent her many talents to kitchen and bath design, managing the Valparaiso Schilling's Lumber and owning Kitchen En-Counters in Valparaiso and most recently Lowes Home Improvement in Schererville, Indiana.

Friends may meet with the family on Friday, August 25th from 4-8pm at WHITE FUNERAL HOME located at 921 W. 45th Avenue Griffith.

Funeral services will be held at White Funeral Home on Saturday August, 26th at 10am with Rev. Rhonda Schienle officiating. Burial will follow at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens in Schererville.
