Armando E. Ruiz
"Peach"
Griffith, Indiana
Armando E. "Peach" Ruiz, age 70 passed away peacefully at his home on February 15, 2014 after a 31 month battle with Merkel Cell Carcinoma. He appreciated all the love and support from his family and dear friends, especially the Dergo family and his buddies Kenny and Ray during his battle. His admirable and courageous attitude is a testament to who he was.
Peach was a graduate from East Chicago Washington High School. After graduation, he joined the U.S. Army and served his country in Vietnam. He was employed by State Farm Insurance retiring at the age of 65. He was a life time resident of "The Region" and an avid Bears fan. He attended Holy Trinity Croatian Church in East Chicago.
Peach is survived by his loving wife of 20 years, Janet (nee Chambers); daughter: Sandra Wimmer; grandchildren: Cole and Leandra,"Mamasita" Theresa Chambers Christensen, his "one and only" sister-in-law Denise and much loved "Brother"-in-law Bill Sweginnis: and several cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, Napoleon and Guadalupe Ruiz. The family would like to give special thanks to Drs.' M. Kassar, N. Seif, and J. Bhatt for their care.
During his time on earth he touched so many lives and made so many friends that it would be impossible to name them all.
To know him was to love him. Enjoy your wonderful journey into heaven my dear husband.
