Obituary

Ann (nee Puchar) Gadomski, 97, of Lowell, formerly of Griffith, passed away peacefully, with her daughters at her bedside in Upper Sandusky, Ohio, on Thursday, August 11, 2016.  She was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Joseph Gadomski.

Born and raised in Pennsylvania, as an adult she moved to Calumet City, IL and later Hammond, IN where she was married.  Later they moved to Griffith where they raised two daughters, Andrea (Joe) Gadomski-Riker of Upper Sandusky and Roberta (Don Bilinski) Gadomski of Lowell.

Ann is also survived by her two nephews, George (Elaine) Gadomski and Ron (Pam) Gadomski and several grand nieces and nephews.  Also, she was known and loved as "Granny" by Tatum, Kalina, Alex, Livvy, Kendall, and Harley.

As a longtime member of St. Mary's Church, Griffith, Ann generously shared her Catholic faith as a volunteer in every aspect of parish life.  To many parishioners, she was simply known as "Mrs. G." and many witnessed her authentic devotion to the Blessed Mother and praying her Rosary.  In recent years she also attended Holy Name Church in Cedar Lake. Ann's faith brought her peace, comfort, joy, and a zest-for-life.

Her fun-loving spirit was enjoyed by those who knew her.  She enjoyed visiting with friends; going out to eat; dancing; playing Yahtzee and card games; watching college football, Jeopardy, Wheel of Fortune, cooking shows, and, of course, Mother Angelica.  Many will miss her delicious pierogis, cinnamon rolls, apple slices, potato salad, and poppyseed rolls.

Ann's life will be celebrated on Friday, August 19, 2016 at White Funeral Home, 921 W. 45th Avenue, Griffith, from 4:00-8:00 p.m.  The Rosary will be prayed at 7:30 p.m.  On Saturday, August 20, 2016, a Mass of Christian Burial will be concelebrated by Reverend Theodore Mens and Reverend Edward Tlucek at St. Mary's Church, 525 N. Broad Street, Griffith, at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Chapel Lawn Cemetery, Schererville.
