Alvin J. Scolnik, age 86 of Munster, Indiana passed away on Wednesday November 7, 2012

He is survived by his wife of 42years: Virgene

Children:

Steve (Elena) Scolnik, Glenn (Donna) Scolnik, Dianne (Leonard) Richardson, Kelly (Tim) Milan, Andrea (Michael) Olson, and Steven (Joan) Stevenson;

Grandchildren: Doug, Whitney, Leo, Keith, Dawn, Heather, Lexie, and Mark

Special g reat grandchildren: Hendricks, Katie, Teddy, Dylan, Aidan, Ellis, Catherine, Zach, Eva, Ella, Madelyn, Brayden, Asher, and Connor

and by his great great granddaughter, Maci

Alvin was preceded in death by his parents Sam and Jeanne (nee Mishne) Scolnik; brother, Sanny; and by his ex-wife Celia.

Funeral services will be held on Monday November 12, 2012 at 7:00pm at White Funeral Home with Rev. Steve Conger officiating. Burial will follow at Abe Lincoln National Cemetery, in Elwood IL. on Tuesday November 13, 2012 at 11:00am

Friends may meet with the Family on Monday Nov. 12th, from 3pm until time of services

at White Funeral Home located at 921 W. 45th Ave. in Griffith, IN.

Alvin was an WWII Army Veteran serving in the European Theater. He retired as Superintendent of wage, salary, and administrative services at Inland Steel.

He was the owner and operator of V&A antiques, which was his livelihood and passion.

Alvin had a bachelor of science from Illinois Institute of Technology, an MBA from the University of Chicago, and he taught the graduate program at IUN and Purdue University Calumet. Alvin was a member of Beta Gamma Sigma and he was an avid White Sox fan.
