AGNES M. SMITH HIGHLAND, IN Agnes M. Smith, age 79, of Highland, passed away peacefully at home on Monday September 17, 2012 after a long battle with heart disease. She was a wonderful wife, mother, and homemaker. Agnes retired after a 30 year career with Tilles Furniture store. She was preceded in death by her parents: William and Clara Cummins; her husband of 61 years, Jack; and nine brothers and sisters. Agnes is survived by her daughter, Jackie (Dwight) Murdock; son, Randy (Lauren) Smith; three grandchildren: Corey (fiancee Megan) Rakes, Shannon Smith, and Mike Smith; sister Margaret Loudermilk; and numerous nieces and nephews. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. Funeral services will be held Thursday, September 20, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at White Funeral Home with Rev. James Williams officiating. Burial will follow at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens in Schererville. Friends may meet with the family on Wednesday, September 19, 2012 from 2:00-5:00 and 7:00-9:00 p.m. at White Funeral Home, 921 W. 45th Ave., Griffith.
