Valentin Novinc age 85 of Griffith passed away on Sunday June 11, 2017.

He is survived by his sisters: Nada (Branko) Yakovljvic, Vida (late Ivan) Stajduar, brother: Rudi (Braka) Novinc, all of Croatia.  Sisters-in-law: Ann (late Carl) Listar, Mary Ann (late Leo) Maggi:  nieces: Carolyn (Paul) Jacobs, Michele Maggi and by his 2 nieces and 2 nephews in Croatia.

Valentin was preceded in death by his parents Slavko and Josephine Novinc and by his wife Charlene Novinc.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday June 14, 2017 at 1:00 pm at St. Mary Catholic Church located at 525 N. Broad Street in Griffith with Father Theodore Mens celebrating.

Burial will follow at Calumet Park Cemetery in Merrillville.

Friends may meet with the family on Wednesday June 14, 2017 at St. Mary Catholic Church from 12 noon until the time of Mass.

Valentin retired from the Sun Times and was a former machinist at Meister Brau and Standard Brands.  He was also a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Griffith.

Memorials may be given to St. Mary Catholic Church in memory of Valentin.
