Randy Thompson

Randy (Randolph Tyrone) Thompson, formerly of Schererville and Cedar Lake, IN passed away at his home in Leitchfield, KY.

Randy was a loving and devoted husband to Mona; the best brother anyone could ever ask for to Donna (John), Victoria, Jeanna (fiancé Scott) and Peggy; amazing dad to Billy (Doreen), Jaime (Hillary) and Jason (Kristin); awesome uncle to Peter (Tasha), Brandon (Jessica), Rich, Caleb (Katie), Jennifer, Tyler and John III (fiancé Ashley); 2 great nieces, 2 great nephews, numerous grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren; also a host of extended relatives, friends and neighbors.

Randy was preceded in death by parents, John and Peggy Thompson, Sr., several dear friends, and his best friend and brother John Thompson, Jr.

 Friends may meet with the family on Saturday, December 15, 2018 from 12:00 noon to 4:00 p.m. at WHITE FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, 921 W. 45th Avenue, Griffith, IN

Randy was a fisherman, an avid hunter, a believer of hard work then fun in turn, a lover (and rescuer) of all animals, children and people (the good, the bad, and the ugly ones too).  Randy was a dedicated firefighter, and described as “The pillar of the community.” Randy was an incredible and extraordinary man who, from the day his nephew Richie was born, had formed a perfect and special bond that surpassed any as a father and son, a true adoration between the two that even death cannot fade.    

A brilliant mind and a huge beautiful heart is stilled, but the gallantry will be remembered forevermore.
