Mikki (Michaelene) Adamczyk , nee Polito, passed away surrounded by her family on Friday, July 6th, 2018 at age 57. She was born in Hammond, Indiana to Patricia (deceased) and Thomas Polito on November 23rd, 1960. Mikki spent her childhood with her siblings: Laura Panayi, Joseph Polito (deceased), Samuel (Cynthia) Polito, Carolyn Polito, Antonia Polito and Theresa Williams. Mikki’s husband of 31 years, Rick Adamczyk, survives along her children: John V. Lawson II and Daniel Lawson and grandchildren; Mary Kalbrunner, John V. Lawson III, Timothy Lawson, Isabelle Lawson, and Alison Lawson. Mikki adored being a part of the Adamczyk family with her mother-in-law, Ruth Adamczyk and her five sister in-laws and their husbands. She also has many loving nieces, nephews and friends that will miss her dearly.
Mikki was an astute nurse. She had been LPN certified since 1993 along with being a CPR and TB certified instructor. She loved caring for senior citizens as she held positions in facilities specializing with assisted living and Alzheimer’s.
Much of her free time was spent on her grandchildren. She attended all their sports events and school functions. She also was fond of going to the theater with adopted mom, Gerry Pastore, watching the Cubs, or simply curling up on the couch with her new favorite novel in Tasmanian Devil PJ’s. Mikki was an open minded, non-judgmental person who greeted everyone equally. She was gifted with ability to cheer up anyone when they are feeling down. Mikki loved whole-heartedly and unconditionally.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday July 11th from 3:00-8:00 pm at White Funeral Home, 921 W. 45th Avenue Griffith, Indiana, 46319. Funeral service will be on Wednesday July 11th at 7:00 pm, with Pastor Chris Matthews officiating. Everlasting is her memory.
