Michael R. Schaller age 81 of Griffith passed away on Tuesday December 12, 2017.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years Margaret; children Andrea (Al) Hein, Michael Edward Schaller and Gregory (Mary) Schaller; grandchildren Calvin, Patrick (Christina), Ashley, Kara (Matt), Jeremy and by his sister Jeanette (Ed) Zolper. He was preceded in death by his parents Michael Jr. and Agnes Schaller, brother Robert, and by his sister Rosemarie Glasgow.

Funeral services will be on Saturday December 16, 2017 at 10:00a am at St. Mary Catholic Church located at 525 N. Broad Street in Griffith, with Fr. Theodore Mens celebrating. Cremation will follow services. Friends may meet with the family on Saturday December 16TH   DIRECTLY at St. Mary Catholic Church from 9:00 am – until time of service.

Michael was retired from Inland Steel after 30 years. He loved golfing, woodworking, and traveling. He was a member of the Griffith Knights of Columbus and the Maywood Civic Club in Hammond.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the Harbor Light Hospice, or the charity of your choice.
