Gilbert E. Reese Jr., age 72 of Griffith passed away on Friday August 16th, 2019.

He is survived by his children; Catherine Peters and Scott Reese, grandchildren; Damien Peters and Zander Peters, sisters Donna Moses and Shirley Reese, sisters-in law, who were more like sisters, Teresa (Tom) Henry, Patty (Brad) Kalvaitis, Monica (John) Lougaris, and Andrea (Mike) Corgan, brother-in-law, who was more like a brother, Dennis (Anna) Corgan, and several cousins, nieces, and nephews who he all adored.

Gilbert was preceded in death by his parents Gilbert and Margaret Reese, wife Margaret (Peggy) Reese, and brother Walter Reese.

Per Gilbert’s wishes there will be no services and cremation was chosen. Inurnment will take place at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elmwood, Illinois at a later date.

Gilbert retired from Inland Steel as a Boiler Cleaner and he was a member of the Griffith VFW Post 9982.

Gilbert enjoyed fishing, spending time with his family in West Virginia, and yelling at the television when he was watching the Chicago Cubs.
