Nancy J. Stamper age 79 of Munster passed away on Thursday, July 13, 2017.

She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Gordon Sr.; son Gordon (Heather) Stamper Jr.; nephews Michael (Debra) Findley and Charles (Jennifer) Findley and niece Rebecca (Edward) Christy and also four half-brothers Billy, David, Michael and Phillip Miller, and many great nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents Adam and Diane Miller, sister Sandra, and niece Kathy.

Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, July 22, 2017, at 11:00 a.m. at Westminster Presbyterian Church located at 8955 Columbia Avenue, Munster, IN. with Rev. Quincy Worthington officiating.

Friends may meet with the family on Saturday, July 22, 2017, from 10:00 a.m. until time of Service.

Nancy was a published poet and participant in Highland Writers Group. She was a former professor at both Purdue Calumet (English) and Purdue North Central (English and Spanish), and Ivy Tech Community College Gary Campus (freshman reading and writing courses). Previously she taught junior and senior high courses at Portage Christian School and was the principal for two years at Family Christian Academy.  Nancy recently was a member of the Westminster Presbyterian Church in Munster. She was Christian Education Director at Lake Station Assembly of God Church.  Nancy was also very active with Vacation Bible School and children’s church with Portage Assembly of God. She was also an avid reader and student of history, literary theory, and psychology.
