Martha “Marie” Swafford (NEE Pettie)

Marie, age 80 of Indiana, formerly of Alabama passed away peacefully August 24, 2016 with her loving family at her side. Marie was the daughter of Thomas and Avo (nee Poss) Pettie. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of nearly 64 years, James A. Swafford Sr. and grandson Robert “Bobby” K Swafford Sr.

She is survived by her children: Jim (Terry) Swafford Jr., Tommy (Lorriane) Swafford and Joann (Tom) Textor. Grandchildren: Jimmy Swafford III, Cassie Gumienny, Thomas (Erin) Swafford, Adam Swafford, Nike (Heather) Textor and Candace (Kip) Kelley. Great grandchildren: Brittany, Misty, Lil Bob Jr., Ian, Jackson, Tyson, Maddie, Johnnas, Brynn and Cameron.

Marie was a dual member of Order of Eastern Star Griffith IN Chapter #583/Gurley AL Chapter #347.

Marie was a loving and caring lady with a big heart who believed in family. The family would like to offer their heartfelt thank you to our home health caregivers; Irena, Karen, and Krystyna for their diligent and supportive care of our mom.
