He graduated from Morton High School in 1977 and hired on with the Indiana Harbor Belt Railroad shortly thereafter. He loved to vacation as often as he could. He relished the views aboard Amtrak trains, which he rode all over the United States to the destinations he grew to love over the years, especially Glacier National Park where he has hiked and climbed since 1984. He loved taking his annual fishing trips to the north woods of Wisconsin and hosting much anticipated parties for all his friends and family. Dann was a longtime member of St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church, where he volunteered tirelessly for years. Dann was a devoted IU fan and considered himself an “Honorary Alumni”. He leaves a lasting legacy of love, laughter, and memories that will be forever cherished.
