Bette Jayne “BJ”  Geyer (nee Huffman) age 73  passed away on Friday October 21, 2016 after an battle with endometrial cancer.  She was  born on October 6, 1943 in La Porte, Indiana.

BJ is survived by her children: Brookes (Rick) Rogers, Susan (Michael) Guined, Scott (Raena) Geyer, and   Douglas (Trish) Geyer;

Grandchildren  Brant Geyer, Stephanie Fain, David Sweet, Shaylyn and Blake Rogers, Amy Guined  and Kyle Guined, Alex Myers, Logan and Audrey Geyer, Emilia and Lily Geyer; five great grandchildren: Lauren and Andrew Williams, Jacob Geyer, Meggan and Bryice Fain; Sister: Carol (Larry) Schultz.

She was preceded in in death by her parents Valerie ( nee Pillman) and Herman Huffman, her husband Jack and by her son Corey Lee.

Memorial services will be held on Friday October 28, 2016 at 11:00 am at White Funeral Home located at 921 W. 45th Avenue Griffith with Reverend Tim Powers officiating.

Friends may meet with the family on Thursday October 27, 2016 from 3-7:00 pm at White Funeral Home.

BJ graduated from La Porte High School and attended Ball State.  She worked for Whirlpool Corp. and NIPSCO for several years.  Then she found her calling in caring for preschoolers that lasted almost forty  years, DBA first as BJ’s Daycare and then Busy Bodies Childcare and Preschool. Many precious relationships were formed over the time she was in business.  Years later she still received letters and cards from the families she cared for so long age and she also maintained  friendships with many of the mothers of the children.  She was active in the Griffith United Methodist Church and developed many enduring friendships there.  Her happiest times were when her family  could be together.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to the First United Methodist Church of Griffith.
